We fought hard and attended a two day bench trial to get this kind, hard-working 76 year old garbage truck driver who had worked for the same company for over 40 years the workers compensation benefits he deserved. The insurance company failed to authorize treatment for him or pay the lost wages he was entitled to, so we Petitioned the court to find his injuries compensable and authorize the doctors he had to seek out on his own. The insurance company was also ordered to pay his medical bills and attorneys fees and costs. At the same time, we represented him for the negligence claim he had against the driver who drove carelessly and rear-ended his truck. He sustained injuries to his neck and shoulder in this accident and had to have a shoulder surgery and a cervical fusion surgery. He was thrilled that we fought so hard to get him all of these comp benefits AND a settlement from the negligent driver for $800,000.00.
